If you’re looking for a fun and exciting card game to play, look no further than blackjack! This game is simple to learn but can be challenging to master. In blackjack, the goal is to accumulate as many points as possible without going over 21. The player who has the highest total score at the end of the game wins. Ready to try blackjack for yourself?
The number one casino card game, blackjack was derived from the old English game called ‘twenty one’ and the object of the game is to achieved a score of 21. All 52 cards have a value in blackjack; 2-9 have the face value, while 10s and picture cards are valued at 10 and finally, the ace can be 1 or 11. The dealer, or the bank, deals two face down cards to the player and two for themselves; the player can hold (17 or higher up to 21) or they can ask for another card and any score over 21 is called a bust and the hand is folded.
House Advantage
In blackjack, the player is against the house, not against other players and the rule is that the player must draw another card before the dealer, meaning there is a chance of busting (higher than 21) and you lose your stake. You can go to a Singapore online blackjack real dealer or, if you are located elsewhere, there are several online gambling sites offering the game and you are sure to find a top-rated online casino, where you can chat with the blackjack dealers and immerse yourself in the virtual gambling experience.
The Dealing Process
The table has 6-8 places for players to sit and empty hands can be used by other players, if they want to play more than one hand. When the game is about to start, players must place their bets on the correct location on the table, then with the wave of a hand, the dealer (the house) starts by dealing all players a face down card (clockwise) and one for themselves that is face down (some casinos have dealer’s first card face up). A second face up card is the dealt from left to right to all the players and the dealer. If the dealer’s face up card is an ace, players have the option of taking an insurance bet, which pays 2:1 in the event the dealer has blackjack.
Split
If a player receives two cards of equal value, they can split them into two separate hands, which is normally the case with two aces or picture cards and both hands are played out.
Placing Bets
Once both cards have been dealt, players look at their face down card and can stand (requiring no more cards) or ask for another card (hit). The player can hit as many times as they wish and if their score goes over 21, the player shows their hand and their stake goes to the bank. Once a player stands, the dealer moves on to the next player and so on until all players are either standing or folded, then the dealer turns over their face down card and either pays out or takes another card.
Pay Outs
The following are the pay outs with blackjack:
- Blackjack (Ace and 10 or picture card) pays 3:2
- A winning hand is paid out at 1:1
- Insurance bet is paid out at 2:1
In the event both player and dealer have the same score, this is a ‘push’ and the player’s stake is returned.
Now that you know the rules, you can register as a player at a Singapore online casino and hopefully, break the bank.
